I feel very strongly about ‘normalising’ the conversations we have around our mental health. We all have it. It is as important as our physical health. However the negative stigma that still, to a degree, surrounds mental health, can impact how we take care of it. My work as a Mental Health Speaker and Writer means I contribute to regular Mental Health articles.
Through my talks, articles, workshops, social media platforms and client work, I focus on sharing information, techniques and an understanding of how we can all look after our mental health and wellbeing.
Throughout the years I have given talks to various businesses, schools and charitable organisations on the topic of mental health.
Keynote Mental Health Speaker
As a keynote speaker, it allows me to help start a conversation around our mental health. Giving permission to those in attendance to share their experiences of mental health, with those in the room, close family or friends or to reach out and talk to a professional.
It also equips those in attendance with strategies and techniques that will help improve their mental wellbeing.
In the workplace or a school setting, talks or workshops play an important role in equipping staff or students with skills that can help to express their emotions and thoughts, and ultimately help them to care for their mental health or to reach out for help.
My work includes being a mental health columnist for an online magazine, Donegal Woman, since 2017. I write articles focused on how we can care for our mental health and general wellbeing. I have also contributed articles and information for various media outlets and organisations.
These include:
- Lust for Life
- Woman’s Way
- Foroige
- Derry Journal
- Inish Times
- Team Bride Magazine.
